This private apartment in Mexico comes from the ReUrbano program, which is dedicated to the renovation of homes damaged by the 1985 earthquake. The modern apartments are located in the historic Colonia Roma area of Mexico City, which has suffered the most damage. High ceilings and stone walls allowed the construction of the second floor, which is accessed via a stylish staircase. On the ground floor is a social living and dining area with full height ceilings and black framed industrial windows. On the second floor there are bedrooms, a dressing room and an office. In this interior, a minimal set of furniture, for example, there are only light chairs, ottomans and two miniature tables in the living room, creates a feeling of spaciousness. The contrast of black heavy cabinets and light furniture with thin legs enhances the compositional laconic design.
