Usually, designers like to work with empty, clean spaces, because they usually have a place for imagination to roam. But Nicholas obeid probably got an overly empty interior in a pre-war building in the SoHo district of Manhattan: huge open spaces with high ceilings and large windows that needed to be properly furnished with furniture and decor. In such cases, there is a risk of overdoing it with details, or creating an inanimate interior like in a showroom, but here the designer did an excellent job, a cold industrial room in a cozy modern house for a young couple. Tasteful design!
